Linow Lake, Minahasa
Mt. Mahawu Crater
There are many things to do in the Minahasa area. Here just a few of them...

Tondano Lake
Large, scenic lake, beautifully situated between paddyfields and the Lembean Mountains.

Mt. Lokon
Magnificent active volcano. Follow the frozen lava flow to the steaming crater which lies below the peak of the mountain.

Danau Linow
Small, highly sulphurous lake whose colours change depending upon the light and viewing perspective. Large white birds and beautiful small songbirds can sometimes be seen in the area - a fairy-tale environment!

Hotsprings near Langowan
Try an extremely relaxing bath in hot sulphurous water. Private bathrooms available.

Mt. Mahawu
Another of three active volcanoes in the area. Inside the crater is a steaming, emerald-green lake ringed with yellow sulphur deposits. From the summit, you can see neighbouring Mt. Lokon with its ever-present plume of smoke.

Tincep Waterfall
Beautiful and quite impressive waterfall.

Sawangan (near Airmadidi)
Waruga (old pre-Christian tombs of the ancestral Minahasans).

Housebuilding in Woloan
See traditional wooden houses being built at the center of Minahasan house building (and get your own one...?!?). Interesting. Even the Dutch Queen was here...
