DIVERS COMMENTS
Wir wollten uns noch einmal bei Euch melden und uns bei Euch für den schönen Urlaub bedanken.
Wir waren gern in Sulawesi und besonders die Freundlichkeit der Menschen hat uns dazu bewogen mit Sicherheit noch einige Male Indonesien zu bereisen.
Jimmy wollten wir ganz besonders für die wunderschönen Tauchgänge und die tolle Betreuung danken. Ohne ihn hätten wir mit Sicherheit nur einen Bruchteil der vielen Meerestiere gesehen.
Wir waren sehr von der Vielfalt und der Menge der Unterwasserbewohner, aber auch von den riesigen und tiefen Steilwänden begeistert. Diese Tauchgründe sind mit Sicherheit eine der besten auf der ganzen Welt :-) Ganz schön doof, dass Ihr soweit weg seid.
Wir wünschen Euch weiterhin viel Erfolg bei Froggies und auf das Sarahs Projekt viel Gutes für die Zukunft von Bunaken bringt.

Thank you for the wonderful two weeks we spent with Froggies. The diving was some of the best we have ever done, the operation the most professional we have ever had, the pleasure to dive with and most importantly the staff and service were second to none. We would have no hesitation in returning and recommending Froggies to fellow divers.
I would also like to say that Dante was a wonderful dive guide; professional, observant and incredibly knowledgeable. Every hour under
water with Dante was an eye-opener. He introduced us to so many new and exciting little critters. We consider ourselves very lucky to have had
his company both in and out of the water. Helping us to identify what we
had seen after the dives for our log book entries added something special to an already very memorable experience.
Please pass on our appreciation to all of the staff and Dante in particular.
We hope to return some day very soon.

I just wanted to thank you and the rest of the team for a great week!
I didn't know what to expect when we decided to go to Indonesia for diving however now I can safely say that it is surpassed any of my expectations and that is mainly due to your team's great care, dedication and friendliness.
A big thanks to Robert and Jimmy for taking good care of us during the dives and for showing us all the wonderful things that are to be seen in the Bunaken National Park!
It truly felt like being among friends so I hope to see you all again very soon!!!

wie Du siehst bin ich wieder in Berlin angekommen.
Aber ich sage Dir ehrlich : nicht gerne.
Es waren wirklich die schönsten 2 Wochen.
Egal ob es das Tauchen, das Essen, die Guides, der Service oder Du warst, es ist alles einfach unglaublich toll gewesen und ich mag mir gar nicht vorstellen, dass ich bis zum nächsten Urlaub warten muss um wieder nach Bunaken zu kommen.
Ich hoffe jedenfalls, dass das bald sein kann.

Arrived back UK today at 05.30 - 7 C and foggy!!!!!!!
Once again, thank you all for such a fabulous holiday -- now I've had a chance to take it all in I have to say that Pangalingan and the Lembeh night dives have to be the highlights - but how can I really say that when everything else was so fantastic as well. Give my love to the turtles and sharks and frog fish and weird critters - warn them that, like Arnie ---- I'll be back!!!!!!!!

Christiane and all the team...
just to let you know we had a fantastic trip over to
Lembeh. No doubt you've already heard all about it from Clark and Amanda,
who are going to be totally spoiled for diving anywhere else now by the way!
The weather and the vis were both much better than last time we went, though
the water was colder - it wasn't really muck diving at all. The sea life was
fabulous - pygmy seahorses on 3 dives, great variety of frogfish most of which
were new to us, also our first sighting of ghost pipefish & flamboyant cuttlefish.
Every dive was memorable and the wonderpus even put in an appearance at the
end. Everything above the water was well organised too, not least the steady
supply of food and drink for chilly divers! Please pass on our sincere
appreciation to Dante, Niklas and the crew of the Clown for making it such an
enjoyable few days.

es ist uns ein Bedürfnis, Dir und Deinem ganzen Team unser ganz
herzliches "DANKESCHÖN" zu übermitteln:
Dank Eurer freundlichen Unterstützung hatten wir einen perfekten Tauchurlaub!
Die internationale und trotzdem familiäre Atmosphäre im Kreise Deiner Gäste
hat uns gut gefallen.
Wir beide tauchen und fotografieren nun schon seit mehr als zwanzig Jahren
in allen Revieren dieser Welt, was wir aber an den Tauchplätzen um Bunaken
und Lembeh Strait an neuen, uns bisher unbekannten Fischen und Wirbellosen
sehen konnten, war einfach beeindruckend.
Speziell aus der Sicht des Fotografen fanden wir auch die kleinen Tauchgruppen
und die Begleitung durch unseren biologisch interessierten, mit Adleraugen ausgestatteten Guide Vitro begeisternd.
Darüber hinaus konnten wir die "kleinen" ganz selbstverständlich und immer
freundlich erbrachten Serviceleistungen an Bord und im Restaurant genießen.
Nicht zu vergessen den nützlichen Wäsche-Service! Bitte, gib unsere
Anerkennung und unseren besonderen Dank hierfür an Dein ganzes Team
weiter.
Kurz und gut: Wir werden bestimmt wieder kommen!
Inzwischen wünschen wir Dir viel Erfolg für Deine weiteren Bemühungen um
die Erhaltung und Erweiterung des Bunaken National Parks.

Vielen Dank fuer alles !
Es war traumhaft schoen, und ich kann garnicht darauf
warten, wieder bei euch zu tauchen. Ihr habt wirklich etwas Tolles dort in
Bunaken aufgebaut. Ich habe eine Menge von dir gelernt, vielen Dank. Und von
den anderen Gaesten und Diveguides auch. Eure Tauchphilosophie ("nicht zu
tief und dafuer lange, immer schoen langsam und blos nicht anstrengen")
gefaellt mir sehr. Ich denke auch, dass Tauchen im Grunde gar kein
Sport ist, sondern eher eine Reise in eine anderen Welt.

Hereby we would like to thank you for the good time that we have had this year at Froggies.
Although many people asked us if we were certain to visit Indonesia at that time of year and
after all that has happened in Bali, we must say we had a perfect time in Indonesia and
especially in Bunaken.
Bunaken was the same peaceful, safe and quiet paradise island like always before. My wife and I
had together with our baby-daughter Klaartje a very comfortable stay for six weeks in Manado and
on Bunaken, and if we had the time we would have stayed even longer.
The people, both christians and muslims, were kind and friendly as usual. To all the travellers
I would like to say there is no need at all to avoid Indonesia. To all the divers I would like
say that diving is still fun, especially with Froggies on the island of Bunaken!

Christiane,
I want to take a moment to thank you and your wonderful staff for the
terrific experience Mary and I had while staying with you at Froggies and
on the Clown. While the ecology was provided by mother nature the rest of the
joy was provided by the wonderful facility and people of Froggies. We felt
very lucky to have been able to dive with Franky and Dante. I am smiling
as I write because both were so full of laughter and fun. In addition, we met
such wonderful fellow travelers.
The trip on the Clown was great as well, once again because of the setting
and the people. Mary and I had an evening, after a day of great diving,
that we will cherish forever. Sitting on the bow of the Clown, having a great
spaghetti feast, the fisherman in outriggers with their gas lanterns,
spread over the straits and a huge full moon rising over Lembeh Island. What a
night!
Our warm regards to all our friends at Froggies.

Dear Christiane,
Thank you so much for such a briliant week with you - it was the best week of my travels - the atmosphere is wonderful, the staff so friendly and helpful, and the diving was incredible - amazing fish, corals, and of course turtles - and to cap it off a guide who sung and danced underwater!!

In der Hoffnung, daß Du unsere mail erhältst schreiben wir Dir heute ein paar Zeilen.
Wir sind das Päärchen, das im Mai mit Leander bei Dir zu Gast war.
Also wir müssen Dir unbedingt noch einmal sagen, wie sehr es uns gefallen hat.
Es war einfach traumhaft - sowohl das Tauchen, als auch die Insel, die Menschen, die Abende mit Musik - einfach
wunderschön! Freunde von uns haben gesagt, wir hätten lange nicht mehr so von einem Urlaub geschwärmt. Trotz der
großen Panne, daß meine UW Kamera am 3.Tag "abgesoffen" ist, habe ich doch genügend Bildmaterial, um in Chemnitz
einen Dia Vortrag über die Flora und Fauna von Indonesien / Sulawesi machen zu können.

myself have had many discussions on how well we were treated and what an amazing time we had. The sealife was some of the best we
have seen in our three and a half month trip around the world.
Now however we are back to reality, but these memories will be with us forever.

Great trip!
I know this will add to your already overfull in-box but I just thought
I'd let you know that we had a brilliant time diving Lembeh last week. It has
to be some of the most fascinating diving we have done anywhere. Salmon
is indeed a frogfish-finder and seahorse-spotter par excellence (and we even
managed to get a few reasonably good photos of them!) Please pass our
thanks - again - on to him and the rest of the crew for looking after us
so well on the Clown. Our only regret is that we didn't have time to come
back to Froggies afterwards and dive the walls again but as you know that
is usually the way with our trips. We'll try to come and visit again
later in the year and perhaps I'll have some stories to tell you about Sorong by
then too.

De retour de Bunaken

Je reviens tout juste d'un voyage de 5 jours a Manado (Indonesie) ou tu dois
definitivement aller.
Les plongées sont faciles, sans trop de courant, autour d'îles
(Bunaken et ses soeurs), il y a une belle visibilité mais peu de gros
poissons (quelques requins mais rien à voir avec la Polynesie, pas de manta, pas de
requin baleine, etc ...) ET il y a énormement de petites "choses" qui feront
ton delice.
Je n'ai pu m'empêcher de penser à toi quand nous avons vu les sept
Scorpions Leaf fishes (en neuf plongées), ils étaient magnifiques et de
plusieurs couleurs, tu aurais adoré. J'ai aussi vu une rareté : Un "Harlequin
Ghost Pipe Fish" mais nous n'avons pas reussi à voir un "Pigmy Sea Horse",
il y a normalement de tres fortes chances de le voir, hélas pour nous, il y
avait du vent, nous n'avons pas pu aller sur le site avec 90% de chance de
le voir mais sur un site a 50%, nous n'etions pas à Manado assez longtemps
pour une deuxieme chance.
Les plongées de nuits sont superbes, beaucoup de Nudibranches, de
Decorator Crabs, crevettes en tout genre... bref une destination que tu dois
mettre à ton programme.
Il faut être hébergé chez Froggies Divers, une super adresse, la patrone est très
sympa, les bungalows parfaits (pas d'eau courante, mais ce n'est absolument pas un
probleme), l'organisation "over the top", tu plonges à maximum 5 avec un DM
très bon, qui passe son temps à te montrer les petites "choses" comme tu
aimes.
Le seul inconvénient, il faut que tu reserves longtemps à l'avance
car Froggies a un gros succes.

I heard someone talking about a strange disease called Froggies addiction:
symptoms are a huge smile on your face and an attitude to long relaxed dives.
People affected sometimes wander here and there whispering strange
words as Lembeh, Tanjung Pisok or Fukui.
Only available medications seems to be go back to Bunaken.
Well, I guess we got it.
Ok, I stop kidding (for a while), to say I’ve finally understood what people
wrote in the testimonials page: staying with you was like being part of a family and
I'll stop myself from describing all the good and the fun we
have had, because it is a surprise newcomers will enjoy discovering by themselves.

Letter home from an American travel writer (3 Oct.-16 Oct. 01)
"All is well here on Bunaken. Better than well, in fact; excellent. The
population is peaceful, the food is imaginative, and the diving is nothing
short of spectacular. Getting lots of good material. I've already been to
Tongkoko Nat'l Park, and spent one night at Kungkungan Bay Resort -- yet
another fabulous diving resort, very different from Froggies, that I'll
definitely want to write up for the next vacation issue! At any rate, I'm
very glad I decided to come... it would have been a huge mistake to back
off out of fear. Every place is filled to capacity with Europeans... I've
even run into a half-dozen intrepid Americans who can see beyond the shrill
State Dep't warnings. Northern Sulawesi is nothing like (and nowhere near)
the rest of Indonesia; there are three churches every two blocks!"
